    ABOUT:

Mark Rothko (1903 - 1970) an American raised Russian artist who created a style of painting on its own called "Colour Field Painting" although some refer to it also as abstract-expressionism. His work is distinctly eye-popping with it's simple, but meaningful use of colour and coloured-rectangles.

The book covers his work through early development, all the way to his famous high-ceiling canvas rectangle paintings that engulf the viewer in his message; “I’m interested only in expressing basic human emotions—tragedy, ecstasy, doom, and so on,” - Mark Rothko.
