As a retailer, our discovery and search for responsibly made products brings us into contact with a wide variety of methods and techniques, not to mention the products themselves. As we sought to find basics that not only fit our expectation of how a garment should be produced, we also looked for items that would stand the test of time. Where each and every detail was considered, and how fit mattered above all. After years of searching we discovered that the best way to find a product that fit our standards, was to produce one ourselves.

A line of basics, that is anything but. We know, we know, you’ve heard it before. But this is a line where not only the final product was considered, but how it is created. At Secret Location, we’ve always supported craftsmanship and design from our inception. It is Our Concept. But as our awareness grew, this came to strongly stand for and incorporate Responsible Production as well. When we decided to produce our own products, we recognized it was necessary to put the production methods used at the forefront. We know now more than ever that the largest contribution you can make to the way our world operates is by associating with companies and products you believe in. That is why a key element in our Secret Location line utilizes organic cotton sourced from Turkey, and is produced in a well respected factory in Italy.
Our factory was carefully chosen not only based on their quality, but by how they treat their staff. The factory is clean, well lit, and the staff are well cared for. They even participate in the traditionally Italian two hour lunch.
The first product took years of development and research. We wanted to ensure that we had created a T-shirt that we would be happy with, not only as a concept store, but as consumers ourselves. The fabric itself is a fine grade of organic cotton with a lux finish. The weight and type of weave selected allows it to be a T-shirt perfect for any climate, year-round, while having a tactile look.
Consider the design - the elongated torso, long enough to lengthen the look of your upper body but short enough to tuck into any pair of pants. The rounded hemline, for a more streamlined look. And the luxuriously simple touches of our signature, in the same colour, on the back just underneath the collar and the back of the right arm.
We promise to constantly strive to create beautiful and useful products, while pushing ourselves to employ the best techniques available to us. We’re currently searching for partners to assist us in our sustainability goals, and look forward to the future.
